Looking For A Garage Floor Coating?
Why is it that there's always something wrong with the house? First the dishwasher, then the refrigerator, then the furnace and, now your garage floor has developed cracks. Great. I bet you never thought about garage flooring as something you needed to maintain, did you? It's cement. It's on the ground. It's simply not something you thought about. Until it started cracking. At that point, the panicking and the assuming that you're going to have to spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to hire some contractor who may or may not suck began. Fortunately, though, it's not nearly as hard as you might think to repair a cracked garage floor. There are many much harder home repair jobs out there, but I'll leave that for you to find out later.

Why Is Quikrete Better?
When looking for a garage floor coating, it is important to consider how quickly the substance will set. After all, something needs to be in that garage, right? Quikrete is nice because it can sometimes set in as little as ten minutes. Concrete takes days, sometimes weeks to fully set. Quikrete comes in both small packages or in bulk, so it is good for both repair jobs and entire garage floor coatings and seals. A job using Quikrete is usually done within the first day. If you've ever used traditional concrete for, well, anything, then you know that the idea of being done in one day sounds almost too good to be true. This stuff works almost more like a glue of some sort than concrete.
Quikrete? What's that?
First, before you can begin your garage floor coating, and before you can understand what Quikrete is, it's important to understand exactly what concrete is. Concrete is a blend of water, cement, and some sort of aggregate, such as sand or gravel. It's used for building material in so many places because the components are everywhere and, more importantly, cheap. It's also moldable and can even come in different colors, which makes it very versatile and useful in all sorts of projects. It's also very tough; resistant to rot, decay, fire, wind, water, extreme temperatures, and wear-down by animal traffic. Unfortunately, though, it's hard to work with and very slow to fully dry, which is why it's simply not suitable for some time sensitive projects. That's where Quikrete improves upon traditional concrete.
For Repair Or Garage Floor Coating
Maybe you found this article before the cracks started showing up. If so, you are lucky, but if you did not, you should still consider Quikrete as it can be used for both repairing and garage floor coating. It is easy to work with and cheap, which means it makes even the roughest jobs a lot easier. In comparison to many other garage floor coatings out there, Quikrete is the easiest and cheapest route to go by far. Epoxy garage floor coatings are extremely expensive, thought they're also a lot more robust in some ways. You can also fill any existing cracks in the cement with Quikrete, which is something that none of the other types of garage floor coverings can claim. In fact, even if you don't choose to use Quikrete for your garage floor, it might be what you end up using to get your garage floor ready for the coating or covering of your choice.
Is Quikrete Hard To Mix?
Quikrete is much easier to mix than traditional cement. That being said, there are still some challenges when it comes to mixing quikrete, and you'd be wise to do some research on the matter before you start. If you're no stranger to home repair, I'm sure you've noticed that the product instructions, while helpful, aren't always everything you need to get the job done. I'm not saying that you should ignore the manufacturers directions. Not at all; in fact, they should be the first thing you look at because they're going to be the quickest to warn you about any dangers or cautions. There's just no replacement for experience, though, and you can get a lot of information from experienced people either online or from instruction manuals. Either way, whether you're using it as a repair substance or a garage floor coating, Quikrete just might be what you're looking for to simplify that nightmare of a project.
